Modry Commits To Merrimack

Written By: Noah Cusack-Margolis Warrior Interview #7 The Merrimack College Men’s Hockey team has been knocking down the door when it comes to recruiting players. Merrimack currently has 23 commits and are still out recruiting many possible future warriors. On Friday November 23 rd Merrimack received a “big” commitment from 6ft 5 defensemen Jacob Modry. Modry who is a ’99 born defenseman currently plays for the Wenatchee Wild (BCHL) and as of now has 3 goals and 10 assists in 28 games played so far this season. I was lucky enough to catch up with Modry yesterday to ask him a few questions on his commitment to Merrimack. Merrimack Field Hockey 2018 NE10 Champions

Merrimack Field Hockey are NE10 champions Written By: Noah Cusack-Margolis 11/19/18 On Sunday November 18th 2018 the No.5 ranked and Second seeded Merrimack College Field Hockey team defeated the No. 10 ranked Saint Anslem Hawks in the NE10 championship game. The Warriors (18-3) defeated the Hawks (15-6) 2-1 when Mary McNeil scored the game winning goal with basically no time left on the clock. Senior Mary McNeil was named the NE10 Championship MVP as well as joining fellow senior Delaney Yule on the all-tournament squad. Junior goaltender Katharina Ohmen made 4 saves, three of which came in the second half of the game. Ohmen also landed a spot on the NE10 all-tournament team. Hawks defeat the Warriors on senior night

Written By: Noah Cusack-Margolis Hawks defeat the Warriors on senior night              On Monday November 5th the Merrimack college Warriors suffered a 4-2 loss against the Saint Anslem Hawks on senior night. Despite the horrible weather the warriors played hard until the very end. Family and friends also had to fight the horrible weather as the honored their three seniors (Samantha Bartush, Mary McNeil and Delaney Yule). The warriors had the 1-0 lead going into the 2nd half of the game but all of the sudden the tables turned and the Hawks came back from trailing 1-0 to scoring 4 very quick goals to get the 4-2 win over the Warriors. Cherkowski Commits to Merrimack

Merrimack has 21 commits as of now and the numbers are expected to keep growing at a very fast rate. Merrimack recently received a commitment from ‘00 Nicholas Cherkowski who currently plays for the Vernon Vipers. I recently caught up with Nicholas to interview him on his commitment to Merrimack. Q: During your recruitment process what stood out to you when looking at Merrimack versus what other schools had to offer?  A: Things that stood out to while I was being recruited were the small school feel for example the small class sizes and closely knit community were draws for me. I was also drawn in by the drive and direction of the program. Preston currently plays for the  lax plus club team and Longmeadow (Mass) High school. I was lucky enough to interview Sam and talk to her about her recent commitment to Merrimack. Q: During your recruitment process what stood out to you when looking at Merrimack versus what other schools had to offer? A: During my recruitment process Merrimack really stood out to me versus what other schools had to offer. Some reasons include their lacrosse program, sports management major, small classes, and the campus size. Q:   When you received an offer from Merrimack did you know right away that’s the school I want to go to or did you wait a little bit before deciding on Merrimack? A: I already thought that Merrimack was the perfect fit for me so when I received an offer I was instantly excited and grateful.
